The School of Computer Science (SCS-HSG) was founded as the sixth school at the University of St. Gallen on 1 August 2020. From September 2021 on, it will educate the first HSG students in the M.Sc. programme in computer science. The School of Computer Science is also expected to offer a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from fall semester 2022 on. Currently, six professors teach and research at the SCS-HSG in the departments of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Interaction- and Communication-based Systems, and of Software Systems Programming and Development. Appointment procedures for three further professorships are already running, and the further expansion beyond this is already planned. The establishment of the School of Computer Science at the HSG as well as the two new study programs are being promoted as a project of the Canton of St.Gallen's IT education offensive.
